Fortellerforestillingen To the end of the world med Abbi Patrix

Hør den fantastiske franske fortelleren Abbi Patrix. Fortellernes forteller kommer fra Paris og La maison du conte. Abbi har røtter i Norge – hans norske mor oversatte norske folkeeventyr til fransk og foret sin sønn med dype skoger og norske troll. Den store kunstneren, han som maler frem fortellinger med sine fysiske uttrykk og gjør det usynlig synlig med sine ord, slo igjennom som skuespiller hos Peter Brook, direktør ved La maison du Conte og  med sitt eget fortellerkompani, Abbi kan sies å være den som påvirker europeisk fortellerkunst som et scenekunst uttrykk i dag. Hans fokus ligger mye på form, rytme og musikalitet.

The earth is flat. It is only round at the end of the world.

The end of the world…
This was originally the title of a part of an African epic taken from the book Black Anthology by Blaise Cendrars. It then became a stage production : stories that take you on a journey round the world, and bring you back to yourself.
This is the journey that Abbi Patrix <http://www.compagnieducercle.fr/uk/abbipatrix.html>  invites you to go on : travelling from traditional folk tales, to an adaptation of the K by Buzzati, from poems by Birago Diop and Blaise Cendrars, to myths and legends from the world over, even sharing family memories of his own… With the pulse of drums and sanzas, the stories follow one another, opening both a universal fund of stories and different cultural forms.
These texts reflect the frailty of men, their solitude and their wanderings, the folly of being human, the importance of filiation, and the question of identity.
Through these tales Abbi Patrix <http://www.compagnieducercle.fr/uk/abbipatrix.html>  brings to life the stories and the myths of the world, showing us that ultimately the end of the world lies at the edge of the stage : in front of us, his audience.
